Roxie/Hunter Due March 21st!!

Posted by Savannah on February 8, 2016 at 8:25 PM Comments comments ()

:D

Miss Roxie will hopefully surprise us with babies on/near March 21st! The lucky guy is a stunning black/white male in South Carolina who is owned by a good ES friend of ours. This pairup should be wonderful for active companions, farm helpers, or working dogs. Well rounded, smart, and healthy.

Puppies!

Posted by Savannah on May 19, 2015 at 9:45 PM Comments comments ()

Sage and Silver's puppies are growing by leaps and bounds! They are now 6 weeks old, all weighing between 5-8 lbs each, varying temperaments, and turning into lovely pups! Can't believe they will be starting to leave for new homes within the next 2-3 weeks weeks! One boy will be leaving to go to Greece in late July, so he will be staying with us a few weeks longer. These have been a couple of nice litters of pups, will miss them once they leave.:P

Tuffy (previously Poseidon)- Annie/Yukon fall '12 litter: update 12/1

Posted by Savannah on December 1, 2012 at 2:25 PM Comments comments ()

Two weeks ago Tuffy weighed 16 pounds and he is now bigger than that.  I

shall try to get a picture of him sent to you.  He is a real sweet-heart and

loves to go for rides.

He comes when called very reliably, and he will sit, lie down, fetches and

sometimes shakes hands, stays sometimes, is doing well on house-breaking.

On the down side he still chews a lot and when he is excited still jumps on

you.

As a guardian dog, he has caught a few field mice, and he growl-warns stray

dogs and coyotes.

Bamboo (Joy/Shep fall '12 litter) update!

Posted by Savannah on November 29, 2012 at 9:00 PM Comments comments ()

Bamboo is doing great. He has settled right into the family and is growing so fast! I tried to get a picture of him with the kids but no luck. He was a fuzzy blur in all my attempts. I finally had to hold him and get my husband to snap a picture. You were right, I think he is going to grow-up to be an excellent farm dog. Yesterday, I was at the barn trying to take care of some things with all the children in-tow. Bamboo has never left my side when we're out working. I can't say the same for my almost four year old. I look up and realize she's gone and so is Bamboo. I find her out behind the barn with Bamboo at her side. I was so impressed! He's still a baby himself and already helping me to look after mine! I'll try to get you some better pictures of him this week. We've been out-of-town for the holiday and things have been chaotic. We took Bamboo with us of course and he did excellent. If I could only get my children to listen as well as he does!

Posted by Savannah on April 8, 2012 at 6:45 PM Comments comments ()

Hello all!

Cherry/Buck's spring litter arrived early Easter morning, April 8th, with a total of 8 puppies. All are healthy and doing great, as is mom. 6 females and 2 males, with 2 of the females being bobtailed. We currently have 6 spots reserved. Photos of the little ones are on the photos page. Updates will continue each week for the next 8-9 weeks.

Thanks and if you would like more info, please feel free to contact us. Thanks! :)

Heidi (Joy/Cowboy '09 litter) Annie's sister @ 3 years

Posted by Savannah on March 28, 2012 at 2:05 PM Comments comments ()

Heidi is doing well. We are crazy about her.  Friendly and loving with people but very protective of the chickens/livestock.  She has killed five raccoons and two possums near the barn since last fall!  All had been snacking on my chickens.  Strange in a way that such a totally spoiled, loving dog can have such a smart instinct about such things. I think that she's about the smartest dog I've ever known.

Hope all is well with you.  Keep in touch.

Best,
Betty

Puppies, not very far away!!!

Posted by Savannah on March 13, 2012 at 10:35 PM Comments comments ()

Cherry has less than 3 weeks left in her pregnancy now, she is going around the last curve and the pups will be here before we all know it! Her 60 day mark is April 5th, so anytime around that day (+/- a day or so) she could have them!

Joy has less than 4 weeks left now, so she is a little over the halfway mark now and is starting to gain some of that "puppy weight" finally, no major changes yet but she takes longer than her mom to start showing. Shouldn't be too much longer though! Her 60 day mark is April 11th (+/- a day or so). So we will have puppies running around this spring for sure :)

Will be a fun spring/summer for all of us, but we have a lot of help and people to socialize the little ones everyday- we and the pups, will both have lots of fun!!

Watch for updates and "pupdates" once the time gets closer! Questions, please contact us on our "contact us" page! Thanks :D

Puppies on the way!!!....FINALLY :)

Posted by Savannah on February 8, 2012 at 10:30 PM Comments comments ()

We are finally expecting a litter of puppies out of Cherry & Buck due the 1st week in April (4th-7th). We are looking very forward to this matchup again, it will be a repeat spring breeding from last year. They should produce different shades of s/w with various markings and some natural bobtails (Buck is NBT).

We will be expecting a 2nd litter due the 2nd week in April (10-14th) out of Joy and Mickey- info on him is in the "litters" album. He is a beautiful tricolor male with old lines that need preserving. This breeding will take place here on Feb 11th-12th. Hope for the best!

Can't wait to have 2 beautiful litters in April, more info can be seen on the photos page and upcoming litters page. You can contact me via the "Contact Us" page or our email.

Thanks! :D

Reins (now 10 months) Cherry/Buck '11

Posted by Savannah on November 19, 2011 at 2:45 PM Comments comments ()

Reins is such a wonderful dog.  She is so smart.  When she was about 8 months I had her helping me move about 200 head of cattle and they headed into a corner.  I was riding along the fence trying to get to the corner and Reins was behind the herd. Without me even saying anything to her, she realized what we were trying to do, crawled under a fence behind me, circled up to the corner and pushed the cattle out of the corner and in the right direction!  Pretty amazing.  And she did it all without ever barking or startling the herd.  I keep telling Dick he can't steal my dog. He is continually impressed with her.  She is my constant companion and very loving to everyone yet pretty protective of what is ours. Never aggressive just has a deep voice and is quick to alert us.

Cinch and her are the best of friends but Reins is smaller and quicker so he sometimes gets frustrated when she can outrun him.  We love watching them play and work together and both agree that neither of us have ever owned a better breed of dog.
